How do I get the year in the projektkey?

Peggy Springer January 9, 2019

Dear,

We want to creat a projektkey-pattern with included infomation of the year.

Somthing like this:

jira.projectkey.pattern = ([a-z][a-z][a-z]_[YYYY][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]+)

as an example for the current year KII_2019_0005

as an example for the last year KII_2018_0256

The first 3 pattern are the Projekt-Key. The following year is the year the issue was createt. And the last 4 numbers are consecutive.

Could you please give us working examples?

Could you give us working examples?

Thanks!!!

Hello,

You can not do it. Issue key is managed by Jira. You can not influence it.

Hi @Peggy Springer

Are you talking about the project key or issue key?

A unique Project key can be created for the project as set by the project key pattern. But the issue key is generated automatically by JIRA internally as just a number after the Project key.

Hi, yes, I am talking about the issue key. Our projekt key is "KII". The wished issue key should be including the Project key, the current year and a consecutive number.

Like the following example:

- as an example for the current year KII_2019_0005

- as an example for the last year KII_2018_0256

Thanks a lot.

Hi @Peggy Springer

As Alexey said, Issue keys can be managed only by JIRA. Your requirement is not achievable.
