How do I get my Jira board to populate based on the most current due date first?

I am wanting to organize task on my Jira board by due date. Currently I will add a due date to a task but it doesn't move the task to the top of my Jira board based upon calendar dates. How do I do this?

You need to update your board filter to ORDER BY due date (either ASC or DESC, depending on whether you want the oldest due dates at the top or bottom).

Note that, if you do this, you won't be able to re-order the issues manually on the board the way you could if your filter was ordering by Rank.
