GreenHopper Global Rank is ignored by project import

saraponga February 26, 2012

I am trying to import a project from one Jira installation to another. Both are running Jira 4.4.4 with GreenHopper 5.8.7.

The import works fine, except that the GH custom field Rank is completely ignored.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Sara,

Unfortunately single project import does not respect the Global Rank of the issues. This is because the Global Rank is a calculated field and is stored in a special table used by GreenHopper. The single project import does not import that data and the rank is lost as a result.

This is a difficult area because single project import is a very simplified approach and cannot really accomodate use cases like this. It's unlikely that GreenHopper could enable this to work without very significant changes to JIRA.

Thanks,

Shaun
