Does the Roadmap feature apply only to Epics?

Does anyone know if the new Jira roadmap feature can work with additional issue types? In particular if I created an issue type that is a higher level than epics? Can that be used with the roadmaps feature or is it for epics only?

Hello,

The roadmap feature is applied only to next-gen projects and only to epics.

Shame, I really think adding any issue type to a roadmap would be useful, however I guess this would go against the other roadmap tools available on the marketplace
