Does OnDemand support any offline/desktop client, such as Excel or alm works client?

When I looked into this, it seemed that we needed to have our own installation if we wanted to add the integration plugins for offline / desktop clients.

It would be great if we could do this through the on-Demand version.

if not, are there any plans to introduce this?

The ALM Client Standalone Edition works with OnDemand as per https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.almworks.jira.plugin.jiraclient. There was a discussion earlier and ALM confirmed this works on OnDemand.

Any client that only utilises the remote API of an application is likely to work with the corresponding OnDemand version.
