Do project edited permissions / scheme persist when subscription downgrades to free from standard?

George-Marian Lupu March 1, 2024

Hello! I'm currently using Jira Software with a paid Standard version. Within this setup, I have a primary project that I've been actively working on, which includes several customized permissions and a personalized permission scheme.

I'm curious about the implications if my subscription plan were to be downgraded to a free version. Specifically, I'm concerned about how this downgrade might impact the permissions within my project. Would they revert to default settings, or would they remain the same as on the paid version?

Hi @George-Marian Lupu ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

As per the following Atlassian documentations:

If you change to a Free plan or migrate from Jira Data Center to a Free plan, project permissions are kept in their current state but anonymous access (if you had granted it) is removed. You'll need to upgrade again to change permissions.

So it seems that it should remain unchanged unless you have configured anonymous access.

Hope that helps!

According to this post, it appears that your customization will persist, but you will no longer be allowed to modify them.
