Can a fixVersion be shown on an issue link?

Drew Nedderman April 17, 2019

There are occasions when a JSD issue is linked to 2 Jira Software issues where the 2 issues have different fixVersions. One fixVersion is deployed to production, the other is not.

In this screenshot, the second issue is deployed but the first one is not.

Is it possible to show the fixVersion in the issue link section of the JSD issue so that we can know at-a-glance that the work is done, just not fully deployed? This would be so that we don't accidentally tell the customer that something is fixed when it's not. Thank you!

Hello Drew,

The ability to add columns to the linked issues view is a future that was removed from jira back in the 4.3 version of the application some details can be seen here:

Noting the comment from the development team at the time:

In JIRA 4.3 we did a major redesign of the view issue page. As a part of that process, we redesigned the linked issues panel and we removed the ability to customise the fields shown in linked issues entirely.

The noted alternative is to either Modify the source code of the bundled system add-on as described here or use the add-on Issue Matrix, which allows this modification to the behavior.  However this add-on is only available for Jira Server, and not available for JIra Cloud because of security restrictions covered in the "Jira Cloud restricted functions".

Currently we have the following feature request tracking interest in adding this to jira cloud as there is not currently an option on this platform to make the necessary modifications for the workaround, make sure to upvote the feature per the Implementation of New Features Policy:

Regards,
Earl

Hi Earl, thanks for the information. I've voted on the cloud issue you linked above.
