Yes this feature will eventually land in Advanced issue search. 

When it comes to more functions for the JQL search itself, we are aware of the need there but we don't have a specific timeline of implementing those at this point.

We are running Server Edition, so this isn't available.  Could anyone assist with the JQL query for:

Find 'Epics = Done or Canceled' containing Child-Issues: 'Stories, Tasks & Sub-Tasks = Open'.
