Is there a way now to remove the "reply to customer" button in JIRA? Currently, it is disabled, so it would be best to remove it because it is no longer functional.

Hi @Lorraine Llarena , how is this disabled in your project? This is intended to post a public comment. What is the use case that makes responding to the customer unwanted. In any event this cannot be removed to the best of my knowledge.
I also agreed with @Jack Brickey stated. It is surprising to me to you mentioned it is disabled in your env. This is a based function of JSM application, and it cannot be removed.
The only thing that I know of the button is disabled, it may related to the user who has not been granted with the agent license for your JSM env properly or not assigned to the ServiceDesk Team Members role for your specific JSM project.
