I am managing a service desk project where I receive customer support issues through our website. We now have collaborations with other companies that are also integrated with our website. I want to be able to receive tickets related to these external projects in the same service desk project I've created. Once a ticket is created for an external project, I need to automatically create a corresponding ticket in their respective Atlassian Jira instance, under the project they define. Is it possible to create a ticket in one Jira instance and automatically create a ticket in another Jira instance's project?

Hi and Welcome,

Yes, it is possible to create a ticket in one Atlassian Jira instance and automatically create a corresponding ticket in another Jira instance's project.

  • Jira Automation allows you to set up rules that can trigger actions based on specific events. You can create a rule that triggers when a ticket is created and some conditions match in your service desk project and then uses the "Create Issue" action to create a corresponding ticket in the external Jira instance.
  • You will need to set up a webhook or use the Jira REST API to connect to the external Jira instance in the automation.
  • I think you will need an Api-token in the external instance
  • Depends on your requirements - Move the ticket in your service desk project to a proper status.
