Looks like in my project Status Done doesn`t mean that Issue is resolved. Cause when I generate reports with default series such as Average Time Spent or Created vs Resolved - reports says that we don`t have any resolved issues. Please help me.
Hi @Batrak Daria 👋
If you want to track time to resolution, a better alternative to Jira's reports is Time Between Statuses add-on which generates reports of the transition time from one status to another. With add-on you can easily have average time to resolution on the grid.
Or you can switch to histogram chart and get average time by average line.
Try it! Add-on has a 30-day free trial version, free up to 10 users and developed by SaaSJet.
Hope it helps 😌
Hello @Batrak Daria
You have the status of "Done" and you also have resolutions, which are different than a status.
Resolution can be set using the post function in your workflow, where for example you can set that when the issue is transitioned to Done to show a Resolve Issue Screen - this will give an option to users to choose the resolution. Bear in mind that issued can be in Done status, but still can have the for example rejected resolution.
Nevertheless, a resolution should be set.

Thanks! Is there any option to automize this or make it default, f.i. status Done = Resolved and Resolve Issue Screen doesn`t appear?

Yes, but the issue will show the same resolution if is either solved or rejected.

Okay, Could you help me with how can I settle it? We work with issue like tickets so we don`t have rejected

Sure, first you need to check your workflow.
For both of the cases you need to click the arrow for the "Done"

Update on May 9th, 2024: Time in Status by OBSS was recently rebranded as Timepiece. It is still the same capable app with the same dedicated team behind it. The answer below mentions the app as "Time in Status" but you can find the app in the marketplace as "Timepiece (formerly Time in Status)".
Hello @Batrak Daria ,
I believe Time in Status which is developed by my team at OBSS, has multiple report types that will meet your need. Our app is available for both Jira Cloud, and Data Center.
Time in Status mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assignee. You can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Response Time, Resolution Time, Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time etc. For all numeric report types, you can also calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.
Visit Time in Status to explore how our JIRA add-on can revolutionize your metrics measurement process. Enjoy a 30-day free trial to experience the full range of features.
Hope it helps,
Gizem
