Hello Experties,

Is there any way to mark the * (red) in front of Mandatory fields while closing the ticket in the transition screen, please?

@Asha Goyal -

In your Workflow transition, you will need to add the validator on your required fields + add those fields to your transition pop-up screen.

Here is the Validators tab associated in your WF's transition

Add the required field validator(s)

Once you have added the validators, then add those fields to your pop-up screen associated with the same transition.

Lastly, remember to publish the WF to complete the process.  NOTE - If your WF is shared by other projects, then you may want to create a copy the WF first, and assign the copied WF to your impacted project first before you make the modification + also check to ensure the transition pop-up screen is shared or not too.  Again, if it is shared, then you may want to copy the existing pop-up screen and applied the copied screen to the WF transition (copied WF) first before the modification.

This way, if the WF's changes are only applicable to just one specific project, then the changes will not impact other projects.  Once again, don't forget to publish the WF for the changes to take into effect.

@Joseph Chung Yin  I already did all that, the only thing I want is to show that with * mark. If I make the field as required from the field configuration, it will make mandatory everywhere, we want that only at Popup screen on transition and all mandatory appears with * mark.

@Asha Goyal -

If you simply remove the "Required" option in the field configuration scheme for the project against those fields, and then set them up as the validators call-outs in the WF transition + add them to the transition pop-up window, then it should be displayed with the red * against those fields in the pop-up screen.

This will ensure those fields are only required during the specific WF transition and not everywhere.

Actually, it's the same on both.

The *s only appear for fields marked mandatory in the field configuration, they won't appear for fields only made mandatory by validators.

@Asha Goyal -

Thanks for @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- update and reminder.  You may want to take a look at this additional add-on (JSU Automation Suite for Jira WF - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/5048/jsu-automation-suite-for-jira-workflows?tab=overview&hosting=cloud).  I know I have use their custom validators call and the *s will show up in the pop-up window associated with WF transitions.

My other recommendation for you will be for you to contact Atlassian Support (https://support.atlassian.com) for further assistance.
