Hi!

I've noticed that there is no option to delete  permanently an issue or in bulk issues in a specific project in Jira. How can I change settings to be able to do it?

Many thanks!

Hi @Vera Valshonok ,

You need to modify the project permission scheme to ensure that the Delete Issues permission is granted to the appropriate users or roles. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Modify the Project Permission Scheme:

    • Go to Jira Settings > Issues > Permission Schemes.
    • Find the Permission Scheme that is associated with the project where you want to enable issue deletion.
    • Click on the Permissions link for that scheme.
  2. Grant the "Delete Issues" Permission:

    • In the Permission Scheme, look for the Delete Issues permission.
    • Click the Edit link next to it.
    • Assign the Delete Issues permission to the appropriate role, group, or individual user who needs to be able to delete issues.
    • Save the changes.

Note: You would need product admin permissions to modify permission scheme.

Regards

Utkarsh

To find the name of the permission scheme used by the project:

You can navigate to project settings > Summary :

or, if you open any permission scheme from global settings, you get to see the list of project assigned to the scheme:

Looks like you are using a Team managed Project. You should be able to manage permissions from within Access Settings of the project:
