I have a simple workflow where any status can transition to any other status, and the user is restricted to fill out the Valid Due Date field only. The issue I'm facing is that an error message only appears when the field is empty. If the field has a value, whether before or after the due date, the transition is allowed.

I need the Valid Due Date to be automatically set to the current date during the transition. How can I achieve this? or How to restrict the transition when the current date was not matched.
