What types of components can be defined and used?

hello,

I have a question about a field called Component in JSM. As far as I know, a component is a way to categorize issues within a project, helping to organize and classify them based on specific parts of a service or system.

Is there a standard for what types of components I can create, or which ones are the most common in IT?

Hello!

You're correct that in Jira Service Management (JSM), a Component is used to categorize issues within a project, allowing teams to organize and classify them based on specific parts of a service or system.

I think there isn't a strict standard for what types of components you can create, there are common practices and typical components that many IT teams use like Front/Backend, Database , Infrastructure, Support , Deployment and so on.
