What happens when I set an Approver on an issue?

I want to know if the user selected is sent an email or not? 

Are they asked to read the ticket an approve it or do you need to transition a ticket to a stage that requires approval for any email to be sent?

Hi @James ,

By default when the issue is already in the approval stage nothing happens when you update the Approvers field.

There is indeed a transition required for the email to fire to the approver.

Other solutions with automation or email apps are possible but not out of the box.

So, we would be need to stay updated with the transition on every single time?
