Hi Team,

I'm trying to create an automation for changing the status automatically to "waiting for approval" if the issue belongs to specific issue type and the approvers field in not empty. But for some reason it is not working. I'm suspecting what might be the issue is when i try to change the status manually to waiting for approval there is a screen pop up and asking to add a approver name. I 'm not sure how to add this in automation or Is it possible? Anyone tried this kind of scenario before.

I have attached the autoamtion and the pop up screen in the screenshot for better understanding. Your input will be very much helpful for me. I'm looking forward to your replies.Screenshot 2023-11-27 at 10.31.44.pngScreenshot 2023-11-27 at 10.32.48.png

Hi @Sowmiya , welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Just a suspicion: did you reference the correct field in the 2nd condition?
In your automation it says "Approver is not empty".

But in your screen, the field is named "Approvers".

Maybe that's why?

Did you check the rule's audit log? What does it say?

Hello David,

Thank you for your reply. The automation is working fine after i added this approvers field from request types not using form. I think there is something wrong between forms and jira when parsing the values.
