Hello Team,
I am unable to add custom fields into request type in Jira service management. I have created few custom and those are visible in the field section. And also, I have added into the requested screens.
I checked those fields are available in field configuration and screens in the project.
Let me know if you need any more information.
Thanks,
Ramesh B
Hello Carmen,
There is only default configuration, it means global issue type and projects.
@Ramesh BalamI've had the issue before that I was not able to add a custom field to the JSM request form until I created a context specifically for that project - even if the field did have a global context before.
@Ramesh Balam
I have had this happen a few times and either the field is not under the correct field configuration, screen or project.
The other thing I have ran into on the forms is I have associated the field to a field on the form by selecting "link Jira field" and had it not work. I have had to unlink and save and then link it again. You will know it will work for some fields if it changes the options for checkboxes, single select, radial, etc. The cascading select fields are not available to use at this time just to note.
I hope this helps let us know what fixes the issue.
Hello Aaron,
Thank you for your reply!
But there no forms in our JSM, I haven't created any forms. And I am trying to add text field.
Sorry I misunderstood you, when you said forms I assumed the new form builder in JSM.
When you created the fields to apply them to the correct screen and are those screens connected to the right screen scheme.
Are you using the defaults to apply them to? Once your fields are added to the right screens you will then need to add them to the request in the JSM project. By default the project should make request for you unless you are using the new blank templates.
When in the request builder you should be able to find your field if you added it to the screen. I would scroll through the request and make sure its not in the hidden when not filled section. It should be default put it in the context section by the default fields.
If you could share a screen shot that could be helpful.
Which screen shot will help?
Screen? Screen Scheme? the Field checked on the Issues ?
I'm having the same problem -
added a field in the layout, "due date" and it isn't showing up in any of the tickets or create tickets views. its been set on the screen and saved, set in the issues page "associate field due date to screens" but continues to be missing from the two projects i've added it too. why?? |
So even though I added it to the screen - generic "field tab" - that is mapped to the screen scheme mapped to a project I still need to check a box to further confirm to show it on the screen with in the Issues configuration page. Does anyone else find this overtly convoluted ??
Hello team, small changes in the question. it is Request type not a request form.
For reference I am attaching the screen shot.
apologies for the inconvenience
