Hello. I Have a service project with some customers communications channel and I need to sync it with normal Software Developers project - I expect that all task from service project will be automatically synced to SW project without extra afford. Is there the way to do so without buying extra plugin or something like this?
Hi @eprovorov
You can do this using Jira Cloud Automation
Some example rules below...
---
Clone Ticket into JSW Project:
This rule, even though it impacts multiple Projects, can be a Single Project scope, so won't count towards your monthly Multi-Project/Global execution limit
---
Update two Linked Issues:
This rule would have a Multi-Project scope - so would count towards your monthly Multi-Project/Global execution limit
---
Just to note, Automation Rules can be two different types:
One of the two rule examples above has a Multi-Project/Global scope - in summary, the monthly limits are...
You can view how executions are counted towards your usage on this help page: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/how-is-my-usage-calculated/

You'll need to work out what rules you need - and then you can create them!
Let us know if you need any further specific instructions in relation to the above :)

Hello,
I'm trying to perform the same task as annotated above, but running into an issue with the second portion of the automation.
I was able to clone Service requests into a tasks in another project which is what I wanted to do. However, when setting up the automation for Branch-Action: Copy data between fields, I do not have the option to Copy data between fields.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

It's the "Edit Issue" action.
You can then set to copy data from another field - eg. the trigger issue. The option to copy is available via the breadcrumbs (...) next to a field (once selected for editing).

Hi there!
Automation for Jira is great and seems to handle that use case pretty well but if the monthly limit of 100 executions is not enough, there is an unpaid alternative developed by the company I'm working in.
Syncing two projects of different types can be also achieved using 3rd party add-ons: the one published recently by my team - Issue Sync Lite is free, so you don't have to buy any license. It automatically creates synchronized issues along with their fields, comments, and soon attachments and keeps them updated.
If that sounds interesting, feel free to test it or book a demo!
Best regards,
