Subtask Workflow transition post function update field in Parent task

In the workflow transition post function, there is a possibility to copy fields from the parent task. I would like the ability to do the opposition, ie, upon transition, update the field in the parent task. Is there a work around for that?

Hi @Christine Blair 

There is no native functionality within Jira to copy a field value from sub-task to it's parent task.

Few add-ons provide this functionality. 

1. Automatin for Jira . You may refer to this blog post which explains how you can setup the rule.
2. JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions
3. Another option is the newest version of the plugin Workflow Essentials for JIRA. It contains a post function to copy values from sub-task to parent (and vice versa if you need that).
