For the last several months, something strange has been occurring in our queue column "description" (see below). This is not showing on the actual ticket itself when opening, but in the column marked for description on the queue screen. Is there a way to correct this?

This seems to be due to default field description on a field called "Description", is there a custom field called Description.
Or is there an automation rule that sets a default context for the field description?

No, the column is created off the default "Description" field

That could seem so, but can you verify by checking all custom fields?
Have you also been able to look at automaton rules?
Is there an app on the system, that added colouring options and maybe the license expired?

I checked all the custom fields, there's nothing else named Description. We generally don't use addons with our system, outside of Pivot Report and Swanly and those have been a part of the system since before this issue began. None of the automations have features that would have added coloring options.

It has to come from somewhere.
Check an issue that is just created and see which automation rules run towards it, check them all.
Otherwise contact Atlassian Support, they can seee hte backend of your instance.

After looking through a bunch of forums, I found a suggestion related to how emails came in converting HTML. I figured out where to go in settings and switched that off and it appears to be working.
