Hello,
Can JSM show if a device is online or unreachable? The devices we have are pingable but would like it rolled up somewhere showing if we lose connectivity to them.
Thank you
Dave
I'm not sure JSM can natively accomplish this but for my company we are working on integration Solarwinds NPM to create incidents and mark assets and down when a corresponding Solarwinds alert is created. I believe you will need a 3rd party monitor to talk to JSM
I was hoping that JIRA Assets would be capable of sending out a ping to an IP and check for a response if no response received then an alert would be created in OPS Genie. Also potentially have a dashboard showing connected devices and there up / down status.

Yeah I understand, I was able to use commands like that in other ticketing systems in the past and use the response it returned but unfortunately I don't believe you can do any type of network command in standalone Jira Cloud automation

Welcome to the community. Natively, it is not possible. You will need third party integration + customization to provide you that functionality.
It will be great if you can provide more details on your ask -
1) What do you mean by devices?
2) Where do you want to display that information? (Portal UI?)
Best, Joseph Chung Yin

Hi @Dave Calabro,
JSM doesn't automatically show if a device is online in real-time.
Assets Discovery can find devices and their info, but for live status updates, you might need a separate network monitoring tool.
Here are a couple of community posts that might help:
Hope this helps!

Welcome @Dave Calabro
Sadly, there is no feature like this that records which device is online. However, you can view your recent devices (this has to be done per account):
Go to your Atlassian account security settings at id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security.
Select View and manage recent devices.
The recent devices list shows the devices that are currently logged in to your Atlassian account.
When logging in from a browser, you’ll be able to view:
the device you used to log in (including the operating system and browser version)
the IP address of your device
when your device was last logged in
When logging in using a mobile app, you’ll be able to view:
the device you used to log in (including the operating system and mobile app used)
the IP address of your device
when your mobile app was last used on your device
