Setting a Form Field answer as the Trigger for Automation

Gerrald Stephen February 12, 2024

I am new to JIRA and am working on setting up forms and automations.

I am looking to set an automation to send an email out if a specific answer is selected for a form field. For example:

The form field is to check if new equipment needs to be setup for a user. If the requestor selects YES then an email should be sent out to the IT team mailbox.

TIA

Hi @Gerrald Stephen ,

Welcome to the Community.

Are you actually using a "Form" in your Request Type ?

If so, the easiest way would be to create a new custom field (ex. "Setup new equipment"), and add this to the form.

Then, you can create a automation rule that uses the "Field Value Changed" trigger on this new field. And if the value is "yes", then the email should be sent.

Best regards,

Kris
