Set linked issue field from custom field value

Hi,

I would like to set the linked issues field based on the value added (Custom Field) by the customer on a form .

Has anyone do something like this before, any help much appreciated

Hi @Marc Koppelaar

Yes the field is used on the form storing its input in a Jira custom field

Hi @Michael

You can achieve this by automation.

Some questions though, is the field used on the for storing its input in a Jira custom field?

If it is you can create an automation rule.

  1. Trigger is when issue gets created
  2. use the branch component and choose JQL
  3. Write on the JQL the statement required
  4. Inside the branching edit only the linked issue parameter

Example rule, based on value change, but with the same priciple
