Set Repeating Issue on JIRA Cloud - Service Management

Drishti Maharaj March 27, 2023

Hi,

I am not too sure if I am possibly not seeing this functionality or not available in the Cloud version, but on Jira Server, you can set an issue to repeat based on certain criteria - this works well for us for daily tasks without having to physically go create a new ticket each day.

Is this available also as a standard feature on Cloud?

Or can this only be achieved with Automation on Cloud?

Thanks

Hi @Drishti Maharaj

This is NOT a standard jira behaviour, even in server. So you have to have an app to do that (which is your case most likely). You can create a basic automation rule:

  • Trigger: Schedule
  • Action: Clone Issue

In the action of cloning the issue you can add your specific field which you want to get populated:

Hi Drishti,

There's not a function like that natively built into Cloud. There are some third party apps that can help with it or you can build your own process. Here is an article that will help you build it yourself if you desire: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/Creating-a-Flexible-Recurring-Task-Issue/ba-p/2040862
