Role for external Product Owner to be able to edit dates on Backlog items & move issues into Sprints

Hello all,

I need to create a project role that will allow an external client to have access to a specific Jira project, edit tickets in the Backlog then be able to move those tickets from the Backlog into a Sprint. Once in the Sprint, they will need to be able to progress tickets through our workflows.

I have created an "External Product Owner" project role and assigned permissions to the role (Browse Projects, Manage Sprints, Schedule Issues etc) and added that User and role to the relevant Project.

When I try and move an issue from the Backlog into a Sprint, I get an error:

"Something's gone wrong. Refresh the page and try again"

Refreshing does not resolve the issue.

Any advice on how to get the role configured to grant access to an external client would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi @Tom Steadman

Please check if you have given appropriate permission to the newly created Project Role in the project permission scheme.

It could be possible that you have just created project role & did amended your permission scheme.

Thanks
