Reporter field is encrypted when using Advanced Compare in Automation

JayJuan Jones August 19, 2022

Hello, I am working on an automation to compare the reporter field to one of my customer fields that returns text. This automation would work fine, but my reporter field is being returned like this:

qm:f64841d3-9dd9-4d47-b4c9-4aa723459311:63ad5fd8-7597-4181-89c6-ead7c07dbd10

any idea how I can get that field to return the text only and not the encrypted value?

What you see is expected, since that is how Jira stores the reporter. In order to get the display name you can use {{issue.reporter.displayName}}

@JayJuan Jones -

In addition to what @Mikael Sandberg mentioned, please refer to this link regarding smart value usage against user object - https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-users/

Hope this helps.
