it worked for a couple of days now I get this error

For extended testing enter the credentials of a user in the remote directory.
Test basic connection : Succeeded
Test retrieve user : Failed
org.springframework.ldap.PartialResultException: nested exception is javax.naming.PartialResultException [Root exception is javax.naming.CommunicationException: domainname.com:389 [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect]]

Hey Alex,

From the stack trace, it looks like you are having issues with the user directory configuration. Usually this is solved by disabling the "Follow Referrals" in the advanced section of your User Directory configuration.
