Recipient smart value

Sal October 19, 2022

Hello Everyone,

Which smart value can be used in Automation for Jira Email to add recipient?

Like we use ${recipient.name} in customer notification.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sal,

Any field containing a user, users or group can technically be used as a smart value to determine the recipient of an email in an automation.

Like @John Funk said, the obvious one are Reporter and assignee.

But maybe you added a field in your form asking to choose the "client" (the employee for who the request is placed). Or maybe you have a JIRA group associated to this issue (let's say an Assignment group).

Of course, if the recipient of your email is not in a field in the issue, you'll have to "hard-code" them in your rule.

Hope this helps !

Have a nice day.

Hi Sal,

I am not sure that you can do that with Automation for Jira. But you should be able to use Reporter and Assignee. How are you trying to send it to?
