Hi Community,
Need some help/advice. We are trying to setup JSM in our technical services environment. I have a question for you please - that may lead onto more questions :-)
We have created organisation for our customers and added contacts in our JSM project. However, we have the need to be more specific and require what we think will be a sub organisation. For Example:
In reality the contacts will be the same for all "systems" under the main organisation.
Hope that makes sense!?!?
Chris
Hi @Chris.Shadbolt welcome to the community. I'm not exactly sure what your question is, but it appears to be asking if there is such a thing as Sub Organizations in JSM. The answer to that is not at this time, at least not with the delivered code. You could setup multiple Organizations, but that may or may not work for you, as you would also then need to add customers to those multiple organizations. I am wondering if Categories may work as a substitute for sub organizations, but it would need a little more thought. You could have the 1 organization, and create a category for each system. All the customers would then belong to the organization, and you could separate issue out by category.
Hope that helps.

Hi @Chris.Shadbolt ,
How do you want to use this information? Have you considered using a custom field for sub-organization? I am unsure how these sub-organizations are identified and defined, but expect that is to be manually done. You could name your SOs using the organization, e,g. Iknownotwhatido-System1. it would then need to use automation to set the custom field.
