New user confirmed invitation, and still pending

Hi Everyone!

I need to add a new user. Invited him under Administration/Directory/Users; everything is like with our other users. Once the invite had been sent out, he confirmed it via the link received by email. Despite several confirmation attempts, he is still unable to access projects he should be able to work on, and in the Administration, his status is still "Invited" and not "Active".

Would you have any idea what we did wrong?
