@Mentioning someone in comment automatically adds them as participant

Michael July 2, 2021

Hi,

Is it possible to automatically add some as participant on issue if you @mention them in comment ?

At the moment when I @mention someone in the comment they dont get added by default you have to manually add them

Hi @Michael

this would need some tests with automation - in case you have the time and want to learn it could be a great opportunity.

There was something similar from Community a user has built:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-to-make-a-rule-that-triggers-an-action-when-a-user-is/qaq-p/1341553

Apparently, you would need to adapt good parts so, for example, the action is to put the mentioned user to Watcher/Request Participants and so on.

Cheers,
Daniel
