Making it possible for enterprise users to see external users

Marcin Koprowski March 12, 2024

Hello,

I'm trying to set up Jira Service Management that way so that users from outside of our organization can be seen by our users as from an external organization. I think it should suffice to put the 'EXT' in front of an external user's name, so our users can determine, quite easily, that they are dealing with someone from outside. I don't have a way to test this in my environment, that's why I'm asking for your help.

I know that there is also something called Atlassian Access, but I don't know if it will be applicable in the case of the scenario described in the paragraph above.

Thank you.

Marcin

Hello @Marcin Koprowski

You can set up a domain that those external users have and they can automatically join your site.

Now Atlassian Access enhances security with the Identity Provider (Okta is mostly being used). Basically, users will connect through Okta then Atlassian Access then the Atlassian products.

Atlassian Access is created to add the layer of cloud security to your products.

This is how it works.
