Hey everyone,
I have a field in one of my issue types that is supposed to be filled out before the issue is ,oved to the status "done". Since the person who works on the issue is supposed to fill ut this field once the issue is solved I can not make this fild mendatory in the "request type"-section. When adjusting the workflow, I can select to create a rule for a specific transitoion. However, there is no such rule as making a specfic field mendatory so this won't be halpful I guess. I have seen the option "transition properties". Does anyone know wheter this could be an option for me or does anyone have ha different idead?
Help would be much appreciated - Thanks in advance,
Lilli
Hi Lilli,
1.You need to create a new Screen and add the requested field (Let call it: "Field A" to the new created Screen.
2.Open the workflow and click on the transition that is moving the ticket to Done and click Edit
3.Add this screen to the transition
4. On the same transition go to Validator and select: Field Required Validator and click Add
5. Search in the dropdown for "Field A" and also compose and Error Message eg. (Field A must be completed prior closing the ticket")
6. Click Add and publish Draft.
Hope this will solve your problem.
Hi Lilli - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Is this a Team-managed or Company-managed project? If Company-managed, try using the Old editor for the workflow. There you should see a Validator for Field Required for the transition to Done.

Hi @Lilli von Berg ,
In a Workflow transition you can set up validators. One of these Validators is that a field needs a value or have to be changed during transition
