Jira - test case issue from CSV file

Rachael OHara January 7, 2025

I have uploaded 1 x CSV file in the past and each row in my spreadsheet was in the same test.

Today, I have uploaded 22 separate rows and it has created 22 separate tests.

I want 1 test case with 22 steps.

The options I am using are:

  • Import from file
  • Excel CSV
  • Choosing root folder
  • Selecting date
  • separator - defaults to ,(comma)  [no changes made)
  • File encoding - Unicode (UTF-8) [no changes made)
  • Start at row 1
    • Next
  • Match field names
    • Next
  • Import

What am I doing wrong?

Hi @Rachael OHara

are you using XRAY or any other plugin for managing your tests?

XRAY documented the neccessary structure for the CSV import file here: https://docs.getxray.app/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=62270414#ImportingTestswith(CSV)-ImportingManualTests

I am using Zephyr scale - it might be my CSV file having too much content in coloums A & B ....
