Jira forms and how to embed them into an existing website

Hi all,

Im in the process of redesigning our customer feedback management system. I want to use Jira forms and Jira service management as part of the process.

Once creating a Jira form, am I able to share that link to any customers? or alternatively embed that link onto a website for customers to navigate to? and once they fill it out, for it to create a new issue with some answers linking to issue fields.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Hi there,

You can use Jira service management to create the forms that you'd like to share with clients or embed it on your website. You can go to the project and visit customer portal settings, from here you can create a new request type. Customize the fields to call the info you need and share the form URL and use the same URL to embed the form on your website using an iFrame.

Thanks mate, so customers could get a link the Jira portal and then various forms could be seen there?

You're welcome. Yes, when customers visit the Jira Service Management portal link, they can access various forms available in the portal.

Hi @Daniel Schacher,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

It depends, the generic link that you can get for the form requires that the user submitting it have access to your instance, so you would not be able to share it with anyone. The only link you can share with everyone, depending on how you have configured your customer access, would be to the request type that the form is associated with.

Hey mate, thanks for the answer!

How do I go about configuring the request type for customer access?

Under Settings > Products > Customer access you can enable external customers and if you want allow them to log requests without logging in. Then in the project just make sure it is open and customers will then be able to submit any request types you have set up in the project under Project settings > Request types. Note that only request types that have been added to a portal group will be visible on the portal.
