I have created an automation which triggers when an issue is transitioned from one phase to another. However, every time I run the automation I receive the following error message, "Could not send email, the 'To' address field is empty. If you have referenced a field it may be empty." The 'To' field is clearly filled in within the automation(as you can see in the screen shot below)
If i go into the issue you can also see that the 'New Business Owner' field is also populated so I'm not sure why I'm receiving this error message. Can someone please help me come to a conclusion on this?

Why do you use smart value? Since New Business Owner is a user picker customfield, you should be able to choose from dropdown.
