Hello Everyone,
I have a weird one that I haven't been able to figure out. We are using JSM Premium and I have setup the Chat feature. I am able to connect out project to various slack channels using the Assist bot.
However, none of the other project admins are able to connect the assist bot to other slack channels as request channels.
I saw this info box:
I'm curious if this is a different set of permissions than the project permissions, and if not, does anyone have any ideas why none of the other Project admins would be able to link our project to slack channels via Assist?
Thanks!
I posted a support ticket for this and got an amazingly quick answer from the Atlassian Support team.
What I had failed to look at was: <instance_name>.halp.com. Going to the "Halp" side of things I needed to configure the "queue" for my JSM project and promote the other project admins to be "Queue Admins". Once done, this allowed them to be able to link slack channels as request channels for our JSM project via the Atlassian Assist bot.
Hey @Jimmy Seddon, is this something you're still having an issue with or have you already been helped? If not, I can try to assist.
The project admins should be able to connect Assist to projects they are listed as Admins on in JSM.
Can you confirm if:
- The users are in the correct Slack workspace that is connected to JSM chat?
- The users are listed as Administrators under Project Settings > People?

Hey @Brian Feldman,
I was just about to create a support request for help. Yes, both the other people who cannot connect the project have the Administrators Role and that role has the Administer Project permission.
Would you like me to open a case for this and I'm happy to report the answer/results back here?
Thanks!

Hey @Jimmy Seddon , yea I think opening a support request would be best as they'll be able to look into your specific configurations and assist you further. Let me know if you hit any roadblocks and I'll be here to help!

Awesome! Thanks @Brian Feldman! I'll report back here once I have an answer regardless if it's configuration specific or not.
