JSM Custom Domain - How does it impact Jira and Confluence?

As of June 2024, I understand that custom domains for Jira and Confluence are in EAP. 

Our organization wants to use a custom domain for our paid JSM instance, which can be requested. The question is how this affects existing Jira projects and Confluence spaces. 

Will instance URLs for Jira and Confluence remain in place after the custom domain for JSM is set up?
