Hello everyone,

I have issue with jira service management 

I will try explain this issue.

Our organization have modules 

Jira Service management and Jira Software 

and our division have project only in Jira service management and respectively i add employees only to this module.

Now my issue is, if i not add employee to module Jira Software this employee cant choose any person in field "approvers"

Could someone explain me this situation.

If you want users to assign issues to others they need the "Assign Issues" permission. This can be on a per-user basis or on a per-group (please use groups). 

If you want users to be assigned issues, they need the Assignable user permission.

Please check those two permissions first for the users that are experiencing problems. You can use the permission helper tool (Cog wheel > System > Permission Helper) to get automated reporting on what is going on.

Hi @Paul Wiggers 

I don`t have problem with assignee issue to another one, all persons in my project can assignee issue to another one but they can`t choose approvers person in field "approvers" from their side and in field "approvers" don`t appear name of approvers although approvers person also have in my project together with another persons.

But if i add the same person in the module Jira Software, after that this person can choose approver person in field "approvers" in the project of Jira service management.

I confused with this situation because why i need to add person to Jira Software although i dont have any projects in this module to person can choose someone in filed "approvers" in the module Jira service management.

Sorry, I didn't notice that your question was about approvers. In that case, I would suggest you take a look at this documentation: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/set-up-an-approval-stage-for-a-request/

You need to perform several steps before you can add people as approvers.

I have read all instructions by link but this is not what i need.

I want to explain again.

In my project JIra service management i am administrator and my user connected on two module Jira service management and Jira software and of course in any tickets where there are approvers field i can choose approvers person but my colleague in this project can`t choose any approvers persons.

My colleague connected only to Jira service management

But if i connect him to second module Jira software he will be able to choose any approvers persons

And my issue is why i need connect employee on two module of jira to choose approvers only in the service management project

JSM users (aka agents) can work on JSM projects. Jira software users can only comment and add attachments on JSM projects. They can't do anything else.

From where the employee tries to choose the approver? From the portal or from the issue view?
