Is there a way to create JSM Services without opsgenie?

George Abdo March 21, 2024

Hi All,

I want to use "Services objects" in JSM to store information about the various services that we support or use in our systems.
However, we do not use Opsgenie we use other non-integrated alerting tools and this is not going to be changed.

What I would like to do is create Services and add properties, owners, escalations etc without having to reference Opsgenie teams etc.

Hi @George Abdo

Where are you looking to add these services objects to within JSM?

I'm creating it in "services" in the JSM project:

Hi @George Abdo

Possibly? You only need a service type and tier to create them. But I think it might become more complex once you get into fields like "Responders'"

Would Asset Management be a possible alternative, and build out the services in there? - https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/service-management/features/asset-and-configuration-management

Thanks @Ste Wright
Yes, it is looking like I will have to do it in Assets instead. I was hoping to use Services as it would have been the more logical repository.
