Is it possible to add a customized project template to the service management?

Carolin Jonietz November 9, 2021

Hello all,

when creating a new project in the Jira Service Management, I am asked to choose a template from a list of possible options: Screenshot_1.jpgScreenshot_2.jpg

Is it possible to add your own template based on an existing project?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi @Carolin Jonietz and welcome to the community!

Short answer: No, you can't :(

Long answer/solution: Is to create a "template" project, set it up as you want, with all fields, issue types, workflows, schemes, the works and live it aside as a template. Then when you create a new project you should only choose to use shared configuration with another project. And you simply choose that project to share config with.

Let me know if the above helps.
