Integration JSM Assets (formerly Insight) with Microsoft Intune

Edited

hi all,

Current situation: we're using JSM Cloud (and Jira Software) in one integrated solution. Next step for us is to introduce ITAM through a roll out of Microsoft Intune on all devices. Unfortunately there is a gab when it comes to a full scope of all hardware and software being issued throughout the company (e.g. being a local admin still makes it possible to download locally licenses and therefore these licenses will not be included in the overview delivered by Intune).

Goal: introducing ITAM to get an overview of all IT Assets in our company

Question 1: is JSM Assets, formally known as Insight, the solution for this gab and maybe the best solution to provide us one overview of ALL assets?

Question 2: can JSM Assets (easily) be integrated within our current landscape, including Microsoft Intune?

Question 3: are there any other solutions possible?

Many thanks for your response, much appreciated.

Greetings, Vincent

Yes, Assets can be used for ITAM, that is the most common use for it. That is what we use it for, among other things. You have a couple of options to sync InTune to Assets. There is this app in the Marketplace that can do it for you, Microsoft Intune Importer, or you could do it using the REST API, that is the solution we chose before we switched over to Kolide.

Thanks Mikael for your quick response. I'll look into the Importer possibilities. I can imagine that we're going to use the same option you suggested, through the REST API.

Still we have many questions because we might move from the first step Introducing ITAM to the next step Introducing ITSM where ITAM will be a part of. In this way we're able to receive tickets about issuance HW and SW and be able to solve incidents (HW is not working)

Any experience with implementing ITAM and subsequently ITSM?
