Insight Discovery Network requirements

Are there any services/ports that need to be whitelisted in order for the Discovery tool to find hosts when it scans?  Is the tool just checking to see if there is an ICMP reply to tell if a scanned host is up?  Trying to understand why I'm not seeing any hosts alive in my scans.

Hi Newman,

 

Here is a documentation about Discovery requirements in order to work with scans through the network:

Basically, you need access to port 22 (Linux) and 135 (Windows). You also have the option of using Discovery agent, which uses the port 51337.
