Insert the values for cascading fields via import

Hi,

We have the problem that our values for a cascading field (Applications with corresponding profiles) change very frequently. We keep the list of applications and profiles in a different system. Is it possible to import the values for a cascading field into jira, or keep the list in jira and keep it up to date with an api call?
