Hello, the integration with slack from the Incident management feature in JSM is failing when creating a slack channel since the only available option for slack users is to create private channels (amd cannot be changed as public channels are restricted). I found a jira ticket of 2018 saying that this was available but I can`t seem to find this option.
hello @Marc - Devoteam
thank you for the suggestion. The feature you linked for Atlassian Assist is already configured and working fine.
I am referring to the feature in JSM called "Incident management" which includes the possibility to create a new slack channel (or zoom or teams) directly from the ticket details.
I have linked the workspace but I get an error while creating the channel, I`ve read a workaround which would be to change my slack settings and allow all users to create new public channels: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/error-when-trying-to-create-a-slack-channel-from-an-incident-1235848543.html
I would like to find another way without opening slack to all users as this is a requirement (allow only private channels)
Hi @Yuri Suppa
Incident Management is OpsGenie within the Atlassian world.
Here you define teams, to help on solving the incident. So I don't think a private channel will work.
You could look at integration from Slack https://slack.com/apps/A02NAULLCG1-jira-service-management-chatops?tab=settings&next_id=0
I haven't used this myself, so I can't tell you if this is a solution

hello @Marc - Devoteam yes also chatops integration is already enabled, but you need to add it to an existing channel. I am still not able to create a new private channel from the jira incident

I am looking for a solution here as well. Its not that public channels are not allowed but I would like the default for channels created for incidents to be private. One a channel is created through the integration it requires an admin to change the channel from public to private. That does not work for us.

Hi @Yuri Suppa
Please review this guide on Slack integration.
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/set-up-chat/
But If you company Slack Workspace is restricted in some parts, this could impact the integration with JSM.
Refer to your company's IT then.
