Hi, I am trying to import STORIES and have them linked with an EPIC. This is a TEAM MANAGED PROJECT.
In this link: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/upcoming-changes-epic-link-replaced-with-parent/
It says that when we import FROM CSV, we should now use PARENT field (PARENT field replaces, PARENT LINK and EPIC LINKS fields). But there is no such field as an option when I am mapping FIELDS. Can you help me?
Welcome to the community. A few things that you will need to validate on not finding the "Parent" field during the CSV import process -
1) You need to ensure the field is exposed to your JSM project context (especially the screens configuration). If a field is not exposed for a project's context, then you will not see it during the CSV mapping process.
2) Typically, Epic issue type is used for Jira Software application project and not for JSM project.
3) If everything is properly setup and you still cannot see the field, then you should contact Atlassian Support (https://support.atlassian.com) for further assistance.
Hope this helps.

Hi Joseph! Thank you very much for your answer. You are right, I am using a Team managed software project. Is it possible to expose the PARENT field to a Software Project?
If yes, how can I do it? Thank you very much in advance.

Based on my further research, I don't believe you can expose it to a Team Managed type project in software project.
There is one option via automation rule setup, take a look at this post to see if it helps - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-do-I-Automate-Client-Field-to-Associate-with-an-Epic/qaq-p/1985634#U1985645
Hope this give you some ideas.

Thank you Joseph, my original question was. Why if Jira official doc says that from October we will be using PARENT field as the only field to relate issues.... we cannot do it. I do not want to use Automation tools. I just want to import a CSV file and have my stories linked to the correct EPIC.
Best,
Gerardo

You can add yourself as a watcher on this outstanding issue on the Atlassian Development Team - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17758.
This is why I always go with Company Managed type projects instead of Team Managed type projects.
Sorry I don't have an answer on Atlassian's official announcement on the Parent reference doc. Hopefully, Atlassian Support team can assist you further.

You can alternatively use a spreadsheet tool that sync with Jira. Visor, for example, lets you copy and paste Excel data. Then, due to Visor's bi-directional integration with Jira, you can export the table view / spreadsheet data to Jira (with nesting / hierarchies). https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1226209/visor-flexible-spreadsheet-for-jira-roadmapping-bulk-edits?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
Otherwise, as Joseph said, you can vote for the feature here or get support from Atlassian's team. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17758
Take care,
Becky
