Is there an example about this article > https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/insight/imports/workflow/
I think it is too hard for standart admin user.
It would be super helpful to see screenshot of the setup process for "External Import". I'd like to try it but highly suspect it won't support automated/scheduled imports from Jamf Cloud to Assets : (
Hey Team, I think Atlassian should prepare a video about this.

What would you be looking for in a video @Muhammet Ayal ?

@Muhammet Ayal Can you share a bit more about what external app you're looking to get data into Insight from?

Hey @Andrea ,
The question is basically: what does Assets consider an "external app" to import from? There is no documentation at all on how this external import works. What does the external app need to provide in order to be considered "importable" by Assets? This page https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/import-objects-into-insight-in-jira-service-management/ does not mention anything about external apps... This creates a huge frustration for customers that want/need to migrate to cloud and have an Insight/Asset set up with database imports, and other types that the cloud version does not support... A little bit more insight in this is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jacques.

Hi @Jacques apologies for the confusion. An "external app" can be any application or source. That application would need to either export to any of our supported file formats for import, or integrate with our "external import APIs". You can find more information about how to integrate with these APIs in our external imports APIs documentation here. We expect to push improvements to these docs in the next two weeks.

@Jacques docs have been updated https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/assets/

Thanks @frenchie ! Would it be possible to also create an entry on the Prepare your data for importing into Assets page, and then link it to the developers page? ... When one is looking through the regular (non-developer) documentation there is no mention of external imports, and this is frustrating ;)

@Jacques I totally with you. I am not a developer and I want to take assets from external system. It should be easy for all Jira admins.

Hi Muhammet,
That is because you are looking at the developer documentation and not admin/user documentation. Try these links:
Please note the links on the right side of the pages, cheers!

This is not a helpful reply. We're having the same issues with the mapping process via an external connection. Happen to have an example of the body sent to the mapping endpoint?
