How to set a delay in automation before triggering an action ?

1. Can you please let me know how to set up a delay for some time (Ex: 10 Mins) before triggering the action(send email) in automation?

2. Can we add a table in the content of sending emails on automation?

3. Please help me, why am I not getting this email triggered when the issue is created?

What is the issue with the setup?

Also, I am sending a separate email via customer notification to all customers involved in  email request with different content when the issue is created

Please help me to send both Automation (Send email) and customer notification to all the customers involved in the email request when the issue is created.

Hi Suganya,

1. It is not possible to delay the execution of the rules right now. There is an open request for that here, which you can vote for and follow.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-7983

2. You should be able to do that as you have shown in your image. Or you should be able to insert HTML code for adding a table also.

3. If the issue is getting created based on another rule firing, then you need to enable this rule to be executed when that happens. Go to the Rule Details option and make sure the box is checked for Allow rule trigger. Then Save and Publish.

Still facing the same issue after enabling your suggestion "Go to the Rule Details option and make sure the box is checked for Allow rule trigger. Then Save and Publish. "

But did the rule actually fire? Does the audit log for the rule say that it was successful?

Hi @Suganya Jayakumar ,

  1. There is no straightforward way for setting a delay. Workaround is to do some dummy processing to simulate a delay. Please check this article.
  2. Yes, it is possible to include HTML in your email which can create a table.

           Checkout this articles for example.

       3. Try sending the mail to a single user first for testing. Also check if you are not hitting the  service limits for send email action.

Thanks,

Aditya

@Suganya JayakumarCan you check 2 things for #3:

  1. Error message in Audit logs for this rule.
  2. If the message is a success, verify if you have received mail in the spam folder of your mailbox.

Thanks,
Aditya
