How to send a Slack notification to the requestor/reporter when Status is changed?

Hello,

We want to implement a solution for a project to notify the requestor/reporter that their issue has been moved to the status Waiting for Customer. Although an email is sent notifying of the change it often goes unnoticed, and we would like to be able to send a direct Slack message to the reporter to let them know that they have a pending task.

How can we implement this solution? I know it is possible to create an automation with a webhook to send messages to a channel but I don't think this would work for us. We want the message to be directed for each reporter (around 250 different people). It would not be scalable to edit the automation adding the mention tag (@XXXX) as teams change very often.

Any possible solution for this case so the reporter is notified that the issue is on Waiting for Customer will be highly appreciated (even if it is a different integration).

Thank you!

Hi @Javier Peraita

We at Pagerly  have solved this exact problem and for different companies like Toast, Clovrlabs, 1Password7 etc, where we are committed to solve Ops problems over Slack.
You can reach out at hello@pagerly.io .

You can also get tracking + single of all requests along with Status on Slack.

Hi @Javier Peraita ,

As I understand, you want to set up a Jira to Slack integration to message the reporter about status changes. This should be easy to achieve as long as the user that needs to be notified can provide access to their email addresses (they would be able to block the API from seeing them in settings), from Jira, get the user id in Slack by email and then direct message them the status.

I would recommend you setting this up with Stitch It, a code-based Atlassian integration tool with built-in connectors for both Jira and Slack. It's very easy to use and it allows you to work with APIs directly. You can create an account for free at any time and set up a workspace for your use case.

If you have questions at any point or you need assistance during the process you can get in touch with me using this link.
